Mandatory Country-of-Origin Labeling Rule
Effective September 30, 2008
The Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling (MCOOL) Rule was passed as part of the 2008 Farm Bill and became law on May 22, 2008. It will become effective September 30, 2008; however, the requirements of this rule do not apply to items produced and packaged before September 30, 2008.
